Back in April, Borderlands 2 developer Gearbox teased us with a bit of info about the upcoming game's special editions. Many gamers salivated (amongst other involuntary bodily responses) at the thought of getting a genuine loot box and a Marcus Kincaid bobblehead. Today, Gearbox did the full disclosure on the loot gamers can grab in each of the special editions as well as the box art for their highly-anticipated sequel.

The "Deluxe Vault Hunter's Collectors Edition" will include the aforementioned Marcus Kincaid bobble head, hardbound art book, map of Pandora, comic book download and a four sticker set.

The "Ultimate Loot Chest Limited Edition" includes everything from the "Deluxe Vault Hunter's Collectors Edition" as well as an exclusive SteelBook case, numbered certificate of authenticity, creatures of Pandora wide format ID chart and four lithograph postcards. All of that wub wub goodness comes packed in that sweet loot chest that you're all a little too excited about.

The "Deluxe Vault Hunter's Collectors Edition" is set to retail at $99.99 while the "Ultimate Loot Chest Limited Edition" will run you $149.99, so you best start grinding some real life loot before Borderlands 2 drops on September 18th in North America and September 21st internationally.

The Walking Dead: Episode 1 Shifts a Million in Three Weeks

It's been a time for record-breaking sales on the Xbox Live Arcade lately, with Trials Evolution becoming the fastest selling XBLA title, achieving a total of half a million downloads since its release. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition racked up hugely impressive sales, hitting the 1 million milestone this week, and now episode one of Telltale's The Walking Dead has reached the 1,000,000 mark, albeit across XBLA, PSN and PC.

The first episode of The Walking Dead, entitled 'A New Day' has you making some tough decisions that will no doubt carry over to the remaining four episodes, with the next instalment, 'Starved For Help' coming in June.

Far Cry 3 Console-Only Beta Catches Fire This Summer

Ubisoft has today confirmed that Far Cry 3 will be getting a console-only beta that will run for two weeks, offering players access to multiplayer matches for up to 16 players, with six classes, a bunch of maps and a handful of modes to sample.

You'll also be able to take dozens of the game's weapons for a spin and fiddle with the variety of accompanying upgrades and customisation options.

If you want to get on board the Far Cry 3 beta, you'll need to pick up a copy of Ghost Recon: Future Soldier from GameStop when it releases next week and be a PowerUp Rewards member to receive a redeemable beta code. Redeem the code on the GameStop site, and you'll get sent your beta invite once it goes live.

Sony's Hong Kong website reportedly published details on the next Mass Effect 3 download content. According to reports, it's called "Rebellion" and includes new multiplayer content.

Kotaku says the website published the product listing for the content before being taken down.

The listed read:

The Rebellion Multiplayer Expansion opens two new fronts against the Reapers: Firebase Jade's jungle reservoir and Firebase Goddess on Thessia. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons as well as equipment, consumables, and six new classes: Quarian Engineer and Infiltrator, Vorcha Soldier and Sentinel, Phoenix Adept and Vanguard. The battle continues � hold the line!

BioWare has yet to comment on this report.

Report: Saints Row 4, Plus Unannounced XBLA and Next-Gen Titles in Development at Vol

Saints Row 4, a next-gen project and an unannounced XBLA game are currently in development at Volition, according to the latest reports.

The LinkedIn profile of Volition�s David Payne suggests that employee is currently the Lead Prop & Weapon Artist on a fourth, numbered follow-up to the crazy open-world series.

Meanwhile, Payne�s LinkedIn also refers to an unnamed and unannounced XBLA game currently in the works. A further profile also says that the studio is working on a title for "the mysterious next generation of consoles.�

That Volition is working on a further Saints Row game comes as no surprise. THQ has already made mention that a new SR title is in the planning stages, while the publisher recently announced that the series has eclipsed 11 million in sales, with 4.25 million of those coming from SR:TT itself.

Enter the Dominatrix, a standalone expansion for Saints Row: The Third, hits later this year.

Where are you from & how old are you?

I am originally from Attleboro, MA then Boston, MA, but now currently residing in Pawtucket, RI. I am 35 years old.

Would you mind telling us a little about yourself & family?

I�m a lifelong gaming fan going all the way back to the Atari Golden Days. I grew up playing games like Super Mario Bros. and Legend of Zelda on various Nintendo systems. I moved on to PlayStation system when Nintendo stopped focusing on adult games and now I�ve added the Xbox 360 to my line up. I�m also a huge fan of arcade machines and pinball, making a yearly summer pilgrimage to Funspot in NH to play the old cabinets.

I currently work in the human services field as a clinician in a vocational day program for adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Basically, among other things, I train staff to train adults with autism and other developmental disabilities job skills such as collecting the carriages at Retail stores such as Walmart and bag your groceries. Its not very glamorous but it�s a living. I live with my girlfriend, Cherish, who spends her days as a vocational coordinator at the same program, and spends her nights as an Xbox widow (lol).

What is the meaning behind your gamertag?

I�ve been told I bear a striking resemblance to Kevin Smith a.k.a. �Silent Bob�, although I don�t really see it myself. That�s how I came up with the name.

How did you come to find out about XboxHounds.com? What made you decide to join our video gaming utopia?

I was a member of another Xbox community site (three guesses to which one, first two don�t count) and when things got a little crazy over there, I saw a referral link to XBH, and signed up. For what it�s worth, things are far less dramatic here and I much prefer it that way.

Hmm I guessing the site was XboxAmerica.com. I still got love for those guys & gals over there. How long have you been on Xbox LIVE?

About five years on my current tag, but I did have a former gamertag �Paintballzealot� on my original Xbox for three years before that.

What are some of things that inspire you to game?

I�ve been a lifelong fan of gaming since playing Asteroids on my friend�s Atari 2600, but I generally I use it to unwind from work and relax. Achievement hunting for me is pretty fun as well.

Random question #1: If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional, with whom would it be?

Given the chance, I would trade places with �The Dude� from the movie, �The Big Lebowski.� I would love to give the professional slacker lifestyle a try (at least for a little while). Also my bowling game could use some work.

Always thought "The Dude" is the coolest....

Random Question #2: If you were a Star Trek or Star Wars character, which one would it be?

I would be Lando Calrissian. He hustled his way into running an entire city, got to fly the Millennium Falcon, and was the true hero behind the Star Wars films. Plus he got to wear a cape, and what could be cooler than that?

I agree I would love to rock a cape (plus be as smooth as Billy Dee). Random Question #3: If you were a tree or animal, what kind of tree or animal would you be?

I would be one of the sea slugs from the BioShock series. Plasmids, baby, plasmids!

I know that you attended the PaxEast 2012 convention (sorry we missed each other there). What were your impressions? Would you go again?

It�s a fabulous show every year. I�ve been to all three events so far, and from the Expo Hall to torturing my girlfriend with a little Dungeons and Dragons, it�s so enjoyable. The obscene amount of free swag is awesome too. I�m already planning my vacation for PaxEast 2013 and hopefully PaxPrime 2012 as well.

What to do you want to see for the future of gaming in general?

Cheaper games! More realistically, I would really like to see more cooperative multi-player, especially couch co-op. The Gears of War, Borderlands, and Halo series all have great cooperative play that I really enjoyed. I�m also sick to death of purely death match style multiplayer. Every game now feels the need to work in a half-assed multiplayer component, BioShock 2 is perfect example.

I agree completely on that one. I don�t need multiplayer death match in every game. Sometimes I just want to co-op my way to the end!! On average, how many hours do you game weekly?

It fluctuates depending on my work schedule, but I generally game 3 hours a night, sometimes more on the weekends. Depends on the game I�m playing and how much shit I want to hear from the little lady.

Would you consider yourself a hardcore gamer or just passive gamer?

I�m not exactly �hardcore� but I when I get into a game, I really want to finish it and earn all the achievements, if possible. The one area I would consider myself to be hardcore would be trivia games; I can�t get enough of them

More online multi-player or better & cheaper downloadable content?

As much as I love cooperative multiplayer, I�d have to pick better and cheaper DLC. I really like to complete games as much as possible, and this would certainly help.

Other than video games what are some of the other things that interests you in your world?

I�m a huge hockey fan, primarily a fan of the Boston Bruins. Watching them win the Cup last year was a dream come true for me and I had a great time celebrating at the victory parade. I�m also a big heavy metal fan, Metallica being my favorite band.

I�m also into other thrash bands like Megadeth, Slayer and Lamb of God among others. I�ve seen them all in concert more times than I can count. I love Comic books, especially �The Walking Dead� series, going to the movies, bar trivia, and pro-wrestling would all be on the list. You know this is starting to sound like an E-Harmony ad.

LMAO! I�m glad you stop short of saying �you like long walks on the beach.� What kind of video game would you make if money was no object?

I would make a zombie survival MMO where people have to constantly keep survivors alive, build barricades, etc. or play as zombies with ever increasing attack abilities. Build in some harsh death penalties and people would never log off for fear their character would die while they were sleeping.

Damn I love the sound of that kind of game!! If you could eat lunch with one famous person, who would it be?

James Hetfield. I�d love to hear some stories from the road, the meanings behind lyrics and insight into his song-writing process. Plus he seems like one bad-ass dude.

What is your favorite TV show and/or movie?

I�m not a big TV watcher, but when I do I like �Sons of Anarchy.� As for movies, �Fight Club� is my favorite, although I do have an affinity for Tarantino films.

What is your favorite game genre?

I like puzzle and trivia games the best. Its all about the mental challenge.

Cool. Now I know who to call if I�m ever on �Who wants to be a millionaire.� Who do you most look up to in your life?

I don�t really have any role models per se, I just try and do my own thing and stay true to myself.

If there was a movie about your life so far what would the title of it be?

�Jay and Silent Bob Play Xbox.�

What genre would the movie be?

Comedy. I try to find the humor in anything and everything.

What are your favorite games on any game system right now?

Borderlands, Portal 2, and You Don�t Know Jack for Xbox.

What do you think is the best game (Handheld, P.C. or Console) of all time?

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I was blown away when I first played it and it�s still as impressive now as it was back then.

BEST GAME EVER!!

If you could be any video game character, which would it be & why?

I would be the companion cube from Portal. Who doesn�t love endless testing and a fiery demise? (And yes I know the cube survives Portal 2)

If you had one suggestion for Xboxhounds.com, as a site, what would it be?

With the return of the Hounds Nights, I would like to see the competitions also make a return. No prizes needed, just bragging rights in the forums would be enough for most everybody.

GameStop Tapering Down PSP UMD Sales

One in four stores no longer selling PSP games.

According to a report on Kotaku, GameStop is slowly doing away with its stock of UMDs and moving its stores away from selling PSP games at retail. �Gaming retailer GameStop is cutting down on its inventory, removing PSP games from a quarter of its stores,� according to Kotaku.

As such, the �smallest 25% of [GameStop] stores� are getting rid of PSP games �to maximize the merchandising space� at those outlets.

Kotaku notes that �GameStop will continue to sell PSP games at its bigger locations,� as well as on its website.

While the PSP continues to thrive in its native Japan, with new releases regularly charting each week and still more in development, the PSP essentially has one foot in the grave in the west. But for those still interested in purchasing PSP games, the PlayStation Network has a great deal of them available digitally for play on both PSP and PS Vita.

Halo 4 Cover Art Revealed

The cover artwork for Halo 4 has been revealed and it's pretty damn awesome.

Emailed in little chunks to Halo Waypoint fans, when contructed the image shows the Chief in a three-point landing pose looking totally badass. Perhaps even more interesting, however, is the background, showing the UNSC vessel Forward Unto Dawn and a Covenant ship being sucked into a giant... thing.

The �thing� actually looks rather like the Requiem facility shown in the debut trailer, and points to the identity of Halo 4's new race of enemies. We already know about Crawlers and Watchers, but just what is that thing?

We haven't got long to wait to find out. Expect more from E3 next month.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition Busts Through the 1 Million Sales Barrier

And you thought Trials Evolution was a big seller on the Xbox Live Arcade? Enter Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, which having broken Trials Evo's record for day-one sales, has now gone on to break the 1 million sales milestone, in less than one week of being on sale, breaking all previous XBLA digital sales records.

As well as racking up more than 1,000,000 sales globally, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has also accumulated 5.2 million hours of online gameplay among the community, with 4 million multiplayer sessions equating to a total of 2.4 million hours of multiplayer gaming.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition released on May 9th for 1600 Microsoft Points, and no doubt the game's creator, Markus 'Notch' Persson is a very happy man right now. You can add Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition to your download queue here if you're not amongst the 1 million-odd who already have.
